Chris Chornohos brings a wide range of residential and commercial real estate experience to his role.

Since beginning his career in 2002, he has held positions at Colliers International, JLL, and Newmark, building expertise across both brokerage and valuation and advisory services.

Over the years, he has supported the acquisition and disposition of development sites and investment properties spanning all asset classes. His background also includes work on the construction side of the industry, where he played a key role in securing large-scale projects for a national contractor.

Chris now serves as Principal and Director of Valuations & Advisory Services at Avison Young, a global real estate services firm. His current focus includes development land, multifamily properties, and in-depth market studies across Western Canada.

In addition to his professional role, he owns residential and commercial investment properties throughout Alberta.

He holds both AACI and MRICS designations and remains an active developer in the Alberta market, specializing in townhouse and duplex rental projects. With a fundamental shift occurring in the Canadian multifamily sector, Chris sees this as a prime opportunity for investors to meet the rising demand for purpose-built rental housing.

​Situated at the corner of 28 Street and Bow Trail SW, Shag 5 is proposed as a stacked townhouse rental development. The proposed 10 unit building has been designed to respond to the demands for both affordable micro and townhouse units within the inner-city.

​A development permit application for the project is currently being reviewed by City of Calgary planning department. Returns to investors is projected at 31%.
